Beta draft, pending legal review. Draft dated October 14, 2026.

Scooper Agent touches two kinds of texts. They work differently, so this page covers them separately.

  1. Customer texts: messages between your business and your customers, on your business's own Quo line.
  2. Staff alert texts: short alerts from Scooper Agent to the people on your team.

Part 1: Customer texts

Your business is the sender

Every customer text goes out from your business's Quo number, in your business's name. Scooper Agent drafts and, once approved, sends replies through your Quo account. It never texts your customers from a Scooper number.

That means your business is responsible for:

  • Consent. Only text customers who gave your business their number and agreed to hear from you, for example when they signed up for service or texted you first.
  • A2P 10DLC registration. US carriers require business texting numbers to be registered. Your Quo number needs an approved brand and campaign that covers customer care texts, including automated or AI-assisted replies. Quo walks you through this in its settings. If you are not sure your number is registered, check with Quo before you go live.
  • Content. What your texts say, including pricing, promises, and any AI disclosure. See the AI Disclosure page.
  • Laws and carrier rules, including the TCPA, state texting laws, and quiet times for marketing texts.

STOP

When a customer texts STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) as the whole message:

  • the agent marks that customer as opted out,
  • the agent never texts them again on its own, and will not draft automatic replies to them,
  • only a person on your team can clear the opt-out, for example after the customer asks to start again.

A message like "cancel my service Friday" is treated as a service request, not an opt-out.

Quo and the carriers may also handle STOP on their side. Check your Quo settings so the two match.

HELP

If a customer texts HELP, it reaches your team like any other customer message, and nothing goes back without your approval while you are approve-only. Reply with your business name and how to reach you, for example: "Westside Scoop Co. here. Call or text us at this number for help. Reply STOP to opt out."

When your team steps in

If someone on your team replies to a customer directly in Quo, the agent stays out of that conversation for 4 hours so it does not talk over you.

Part 2: Staff alert texts from Scooper Agent

Status: not switched on yet. Staff alert texts start once Scooper Agent's own registered texting number is approved and the opt-in checkbox described below is added to the app. Neither is done yet, so nobody gets staff alert texts today. Until then, alerts go out by app notification and email. The terms below apply from the day texts start.

What they are

  • Program name: Scooper Agent staff alerts.
  • Sender: a Scooper Agent texting number, registered for A2P 10DLC. Never your business's customer line.
  • Who gets them: only team members who check the opt-in box described below.
  • What they say: a short alert that a customer is waiting, with a private link to open the item. For example: "Scooper Agent: Westside Scoop Co. has a customer waiting (Dana R., asked 7:05pm). Open: https://app.scooperagent.com/... Reply STOP to opt out."
  • No approving by text. You cannot approve or send anything by replying. Tap the link and confirm in the app. Links work once, for a short time, and only for you.

How often

Message frequency varies with your business's activity. Texts go out only when an urgent item is waiting and nobody has picked it up in the app, so most people get a few a week or fewer. Quiet hours apply, except for urgent same-day problems such as a missed visit, a complaint, an injury, a dog bite or property damage.

Costs

Message and data rates may apply. Scooper Agent does not charge for alert texts.

STOP and HELP

  • Reply STOP to stop staff alert texts. You will get one text confirming you are unsubscribed, then no more. You still get app notifications.
  • Reply START to turn them back on.
  • Reply HELP for help. You will get: "Scooper Agent staff alerts for your business team. Msg frequency varies. Msg and data rates may apply. Help: support@scooperagent.com. Reply STOP to opt out."
  • Before texts start, My alerts in the app will also get a switch to turn texts off any time.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How consent will be captured

This step is not in the app yet. It will be added before any staff alert text is sent. When you accept a team invite, the app will show an optional checkbox, unchecked by default:

Text me urgent alerts from Scooper Agent at [your number]. Msg frequency varies. Msg and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Consent is not required to use the app.

We will record the number, the wording you agreed to, the time, and who invited you. You can join the team and use the app without checking it. Team members who joined before the checkbox existed will be asked in the app before they get any text.

Your number

We use your phone number only for Scooper Agent staff alerts. Signing in to your team account uses your email, not your phone. We do not sell it or share it for marketing. See the Privacy Policy.
